Woman Fatally Shot On Bushwick Street, Ex-Boyfriend Sought By Police

The victim had been walking with her mother when she was killed.

A 24-year-old woman was fatally shot on a Brooklyn sidewalk Sunday night, and police are now searching for her ex-boyfriend.
Sade Sanchez was reportedly walking with her mother and a male friend near St. Nicholas Street and Menahan Street in Bushwick when she was shot multiple times in the torso. Sanchez was taken to Wyckoff Hospital, when she was pronounced dead.
This morning, the NYPD issued a release saying that they were looking for Gabriel Rivera, 26, in connection to the killing. Police confirmed that Rivera is Sanchez's ex-boyfriend; the pair had two young children and had apparently recently broke up.

A friend, Joseph Ayala, said to PIX 11, "She left behind two little boys. All and all [she] was a good soul." He also told NBC New York, "Deep down I think [Rivera is] really a good dude. I just think that love hit him the wrong way."
