Woman Dragged To The Ground During Chokehold Robbery In Crown Heights

The suspect took the woman's backpack.

The NYPD is looking for a suspect in a violent robbery that took place last week in Brooklyn.

According to the NYPD, a 34-year-old woman was walking near Bergen Street and Schenectady Avenue, around 11:40 p.m. on August 8, when a person stuck out his arm and put her into a chokehold. Video shows the suspect pulling her to the ground and taking her backpack.

The victim fled west on Bergen Street. She was treated for bruising and small lacerations to her face, neck and body. Her backpack contained her cellphone and a tablet.

The male suspect is described as having a beard and was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater, dark colored pants and red sneakers.
