Woman Dies After Being Dragged Under Subway Train At Union Square

A 21-year-old woman was killed after she was dragged by a subway car onto the tracks and fatally struck by the train in Manhattan early Saturday.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. Saturday at the Union Square station, where police say Helen McDonald Phalon was somehow caught by a downtown 6 train and "yanked onto the tracks."
McDonald-Phalon was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's believed her clothes or a part of her body may have been caught in the train doors. The NY Post reports that police obtained video showing her "being dragged from the platform onto the roadbed."
Her mother told the Wall Street Journal that
McDonald-Phalon recently moved to Brooklyn. Originally from South Carolina, she came to New York City to be an actor, and had been working at ThinkGeek in Manhattan.
In February, a man died after being dragged by a 7 train at the 42nd Street-Grand Central station.
