Video Shows Burglar Creeping Around Bedroom With Baby Sleeping In Crib

He fled after hearing the baby's father—but then hit another apartment.

A burglary suspect was caught on a baby camera sneaking around a bedroom—with an infant sleeping in a crib—and police say he also struck another apartment in the same building that night.
The two incidents took place last Friday night, March 8th, in a building near Johnson Avenue and West 236th Street in the Bronx. At about 8:10 p.m, police say that the prowler entered an apartment through an "unsecured fire escape window" and made his way into a two-month-old baby's bedroom. The baby was sleeping in the crib as the burglar, seen in the video, rummages through the room.
The man fled when he heard the baby's father in the living, according to police.
Then, at 8:15 p.m., the burglar entered a 28-year-old woman's apartment—by forcing open a fire escape window—and stole her jewelry, a bicycle and a backpack before fleeing.
The suspect is described as a male who was last seen wearing a dark colored knit cap, a gray hooded sweater, and a dark colored coat with a dark colored backpack.
