Protests Planned In NYC, Nationwide Tonight To Demand Full Public Release Of Mueller Report
April 4, 2019, 12:40 p.m.
The meet-up will start at 5:30 p.m. in Times Square near the George M. Cohan statue at 46th Street between 7th Ave and Broadway.

Democrats and other critics of the Trump administration have grown increasingly suspicious that Attorney General William Barr's four-page summary of the Special Counsel's 380+ page report on Russia's 2016 election interference was woefully inadequate at best, and egregiously misleading at worst. The NY Times, Washington Post and NBC News are all reporting that various members of Mueller's team believe Barr "failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated." Some team members say that Mueller's findings paint a picture of "a campaign whose members were manipulated by a sophisticated Russian intelligence operation."
Barr said in a letter last Friday that he planned to release the report to Congress “in mid-April, if not sooner,” but also said that there would be redactions. The House Judiciary Committee voted yesterday to authorize a subpoena for the full, unredacted report, but lawmakers don't seem to be putting much pressure on Barr to actually follow through on that—Republicans are generally digging in their heels about any release happening, or casting doubt on the validity of the original report. (Not Chuck Grassley though!)
Activists with MoveOn and Rise and Resist are joining a nationwide protest tonight in Times Square, where there will be a rally hosted by March For Truth called, "Release The Mueller Report!" The rally will be followed by a march to Madison Square Park. In a press release, Rise and Resist said, "Activists in New York City will join a nationwide protest calling on Attorney General Barr and elected officials to take decisive steps to make the findings of the Mueller investigation public. The final report was released to Attorney General Barr on March 22nd. House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and five other Committee Chairs gave the Attorney General a deadline of April 2nd to turn over the report to Congress, and the deadline was missed."
The NYC rally will start at 5:30 p.m. in Times Square near the George M. Cohan statue at 46th Street between 7th Ave and Broadway, with a march downtown to follow. You can get more information on it and here, and RSVP here.
See you tonight - 5:30, Times Square. Over 1,000 have RSVP'd for the protest. It's important that we put pressure on Barr, Trump, the GOP, and anyone that can influence the release of the report. https://t.co/3O1tmoWwBS
