Police Searching For Cyclist Who Broke Woman's Arm In Ridgewood

Police are searching for a cyclist who allegedly struck a 59-year-old woman in Queens last month and fled the scene.

According to the NYPD, the woman was attempting to cross the street near 67th Avenue and Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood on April 10th when she was knocked over by the cyclist. The victim was hospitalized with minor neck injuries and a broken arm, police said.

A photo distributed by police on Tuesday shows the alleged suspect on his bike, wearing dark sunglasses and sporting a mohawk.

Last week, a 67-year-old woman suffered a skull fracture after she was struck by a cyclist who allegedly blew through a red light in Midtown. The NYPD has reportedly been cracking down on cyclists in the area as a result.

The last time a cyclist killed someone in New York City was in 2014. Of the 754 pedestrians killed on city streets in the half decade before that, just two deaths were caused by cyclists.
