A passer-by discovered a plastic bag containing a foot and leg in a Bronx park on Tuesday night, police say. This discovery comes just four days after the body parts of a woman were found in a different Bronx park.

Just before 7:30 p.m., a child walking with his family in Barreto Point Park, by the Tiffany Street Pier, reportedly spotted a foot sticking out of a bag. The NYPD said the bag contained a human leg and arm, and another bag was found with additional body parts, ABC 7 reports.

Investigators have interviewed an ice cream truck driver who reportedly observed two men enter the park riding electric scooters and carrying several garbage bags on Tuesday afternoon, sources told the Daily News.

The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

On Friday, August 24th, a Parks worker called 911 after finding a plastic bag with body parts in Crotona Park. After determining the remains belonged to a woman, police released a sketch of the victim in hopes that the public can identify her.

Upon the discovery of the remains, City Council Member Vanessa Gibson told the Times, "Someone has no regard for life and it’s disturbing. I’m sorry this happened to that young lady." This morning, the NYPD classified her death as a homicide.

It's unclear if the two incidents are connected—the parks are three miles from each other.

In April, the remains of Brandy Odom, a 26-year-old Brooklyn resident, were found in Canarsie Park. Her murder is still unsolved.
