The incident took place around 5 a.m. on August 6, when the 39-year-old victim was leaving El Gran Mar de Plata, at 3175 Fulton Street in Brooklyn; police say she entered what she thought was a livery car. According to the NYPD, "A short distance from the location, the driver drove into the rear of a fast food restaurant located at 3283 Atlantic Avenue, entered the passenger area where the victim was seated, displayed a firearm and began to violently assault the victim striking her in the face and body."

The victim took herself to Jamaica Hospital and was treated for pain and bruising to her face and torso.
Police released images of the suspect, who is described as being in his 20s and having a thin build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, white T-shirt and jeans.
