NYPD: Thieves Are Violently Stealing Food Delivery Workers' E-Bikes In Manhattan

Police are looking for five people they say are involved in forcibly stealing food delivery workers' e-bicycles. In many of the incidents, the suspects allegedly assault the victims in order to take their e-bikes.

All of the incidents took place in September in Manhattan, mostly on the Upper East and Upper West Sides. Here are details from the NYPD:

Incident #1(26th Pct):
On Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2100 hours at the corner of Morningside Avenue and West 123rd Street, the individuals punched the 53-year-old victim in the head, forcibly removed his E-Bike and fled the scene. Victim refused medical attention.

Incident #2(23rd Pct):
Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2140 hours in front of 70 East 115th Street, the individuals kicked the 27-year-old victim off his E-bike, removing the bike and $40 before fleeing westbound towards Madison Avenue. The victim refused medical attention.

Incident #3(25th Pct):
Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2115 hours in front of 1485 5th Avenue, a 34-year-old male victim was riding his E-bike southbound on 5th Avenue towards East 119th Street when the individuals punched him about the body and face. The individuals removed his E-Bike before they fled westbound on West 120th Street. The victim refused medical attention.

Incident #4(19th Pct):
Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2241 hours at the corner of 3rd Avenue and East 88th Street, the individuals pushed a 20-year-old male victim off his E-bike, removed his wallet and the bike before fleeing on 88th Street. The victim refused medical attention.

Incident #5(24th Pct):
Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2245 hours, in front of 20 West 102nd Street, a 35-year-old male victim was attempting to secure his E-bike when the individual pushed him to the ground and forcibly removed his E-bike. The individual fled northbound on Manhattan Avenue. The victim refused medical attention.

Incident #6(23rd Pct):
Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2345 hours in front of 55 East 102nd Street, the individuals surrounded a 35-year-old male victim riding his E-bike and removed it from him before fleeing northbound on Park Avenue. The victim was not injured as a result of this incident.

Incident #7(25th Pct):
Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1910 hours in front of 158 East 122nd Street, the individuals punched a 30-year-old male victim riding his E-bike and removed it before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim sustained laceration to his face and body and EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was treated and released.

Incident #8(24th Pct):
Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2115 hours in front of 201 West 93rd Street the individuals punched a 54-year-old male victim in the face and forcibly removed his E-Bike before fleeing the Westbound West 93rd Street towards Broadway. The victim refused medical attention.

Police shared footage of the suspects, plus video of the fourth incident, from the Whole Foods Market at 1551 Third Avenue, which shows a suspect shoving a man off his bike:

The suspects are described as 1) A male, 15-18 years old, with a thin build, approximately 5'6" with a short black Afro who was last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers; 2) a female, 15-17 years old, heavy build and approximately 5'2", with long light brown hair who was last seen wearing black and green hooded sweat jacket, black pants and black sneakers; 3) a male, 17-19 years old, 5'8", with a thin build, beard and a short black Afro who was last seen wearing black pants, a red sweatshirt with an eye on the front and black sneakers; 4) a male, 17-19 years old, with a thin build, 5'7" to 5'9" tall who was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans, blue sneakers and a green du-rag; 5) a male 17-19 years old, 5'8" with a thin build, beard and a short black Afro who was last seen wearing a grey sweat shirt, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.
