A week ago, a "mystery gunman" started firing bullets into the windows of a Manhattan luxury apartment building, frightening residents. Now the police have released images of two people who were on Roosevelt Island who are wanted for questioning.

According to the NYPD, someone "discharged a firearm in the rear of 20 River Road on Roosevelt Island" around 1 a.m. on August 18. No one was injured, but a 61-year-old woman living in One East River Place across the East River woke up when a bullet broke through her living room window.

Video and an image of male and female persons of interest were released:

Police also say that on August 16, around 11:30 p.m., a 68-year-old was awakened by the sound of shattering glass and found a bullet fragment. The Post reports, "Cops were puzzled by the source of the gunfire until they realized the timing of the second shooting matched up with two 911 calls reporting shots heard coming from another apartment building — about 1,400 feet across the East River on Roosevelt Island... Investigators 'think it’s some a-hole standing on a balcony shooting across the river,' a high-ranking NYPD insider said."

An infuriated One East River Place resident said, "I'm paying close to $10,000 per month in rent so I can use the fitness center and be shot in the head in my apartment." Other residents are upset that building management never informed them that someone was shooting into the building.
