NYPD Searching For Man Who Punched 8-Year-Old Boy In Manhattan Subway Station

Police are searching for a man who apparently randomly punched a boy in the back of his head on a lower Manhattan subway platform.

The incident happened on March 4th, around 8:40 p.m. inside the Fulton Street subway station. According to the NYPD, as a southbound 3 train was pulling into the station, an unknown man "walked over and punched an 8-year-old male, who was onboard the train in the company of his mother, in the back of the head causing the victim pain and swelling."

The man then fled. The boy, who police say is autistic, was taken to NY Downtown Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Authorities distributed images of the suspect, describing him as being about 50 years-old, 6'2", and 200 pounds with a blotchy complexion, an injured right eye, a salt and pepper beard and hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black knit cap, red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots.
