NYPD: Man Attacked Woman With Metal Barrier On East Village Street

Police are searching for a man who used a metal police barrier to attack a woman on a Manhattan sidewalk last month, reportedly shouting, "Tag, you're it," before fleeing the scene.

The assault took place on January 20th, in front of 19 Bleecker Street in the East Village, around 11:52 a.m. Police say the suspect "dragged a metal police barrier across the street and hit" a woman, 26, across her back. She suffered pain and a laceration, but refused medical attention.

The NYPD released video of the suspect, describing him as being around 20 years old and 5'5" and 140 pounds with a medium build and dark curly hair. He was last seen wearing a black track suit jacket with white stripes, grey hooded sweatshirt, grey Champion sweatpants and black sneakers.
