NYPD Looking For Man Caught On Video Repeatedly Kicking Elderly Woman On 2 Train

Police are looking for a man who was captured on video this week kicking an elderly woman in the face on the subway.

The NYPD says the incident happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 10th on a northbound 2 train in the Bronx. As the train was pulling into the 238th Street / Nereid Avenue Street subway station, the man approached a 78-year-old woman who was seated, and proceeded to punch and kick her numerous times in the face and body. The man then fled the train at that stop.

The woman rode the train one more stop and exited at 241st Street, where she was met by EMS. She suffered bleeding and swelling with cuts to the face and was treated at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 40-years-old, 6'0", 180 lbs., with a black goatee. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black knit cap, long black and white checkered scarf, metal framed glasses, and black pants.

Sources told ABC that officials were troubled that "no one else on the train attempted to help the woman during the incident. Instead, several of them recorded it on their phones."
