Road rage: it's not just for idiots behind the wheel. An SUV passenger who allegedly flipped out after a traffic agent issued a summons to a double parked car is now wanted by the police for assault.

The incident took place in Astoria on Friday, July 20th, around 4:55 p.m. According to the NYPD, a 55-year-old female traffic agent gave a parking summons to a Nissan Rogue SL that was double parked in front of 30-90 Steinway Street. As she wrote the ticket, a man "approached the Traffic Agent and yelled profanities at her, before entering the front passenger side of the vehicle, being operated by an adult female."

The traffic agent left the ticket on the windshield and continued her tour on foot. About 25 minutes later, the SUV approached her and the passenger held a "plastic bottle out of the window, before throwing a clear liquid from the bottle at the Agent, hitting her in the back, as the vehicle passed her."

The traffic agent was treated at Astoria General Hospital and released. An NYPD spokesperson could not provide any information on the nature of her injuries, or say whether the victim merely received medical attention as a precaution.

Police say they are looking for one Haytham Salama, 35, who is described as being 5'6" and 180 pounds with black hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt. Investigators say he was a passenger in a dark colored Nissan Rogue SL, with New York license plates #HMM-9542 (photograph taken by the traffic agent above).
