The NYPD is seeking a number of people involved in what Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea called a "brutal & brazen gang murder" earlier this month. Footage from numerous security cameras released by the NYPD shows a number of suspects chasing Taquan Eversley through East New York streets around 7:15 a.m. on March 19th.

At one point, the 21-year-old victim can be seen running into a backyard. Commanding Officer of Brooklyn North Detectives Mike Kemper said, "He’s literally running from them trying to escape further assault... and he is literally hiding behind a parked car for his life as the group is searching for him." Video shows Eversley jumping over a fence, but there was barbed wire on the other side, which apparently trapped him.

Police say that one of the suspects threw a brick—described as a "boulder" by the Daily News—at Eversley, while another peers over a fence for a while. When he comes down, video shows he is holding a gun.

Eversley's body was found with multiple gunshot wounds behind 666 Elton Street. EMS took him to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

One man, Michael Reid, 25, was arrested for murder and criminal possession of a weapon; it's believed Reid threw the rock. Other suspects police are looking for are Alfred Crooks, 22; Shacore Huff, 24; and Donaven McDay, 29.
