NYPD: Customer Using Counterfeit $20 Bill Punches Dollar Store Worker

Video shows that when the employee gets the counterfeit detector pen, the suspect tries to take the money back.
A man trying to use a counterfeit $20 bill attacked a Bronx store's employee who confronted him about using the funny money, according to police.
The incident took place at the CS 99¢ & Plus store at 368 East Gun Hill Road, around 3:35 p.m. on April 28th. The NYPD says that after the customer presented a $20 bill to pay for a package of T-shirts, the store employee took a counterfeit bill detector pen to use on the money. The suspect then unsuccessfully tried to grab the $20 bill back—and left the store with the shirts.
Police say the employee followed the man out of the store to confront him, and security camera video shows the man beating the worker. The exchange in the store was also caught on video:
The employee was treated for a laceration to his face at the scene by EMS.
The suspect, who fled north on Decatur Avenue, is described as being 20-35 years old and 6 feet tall with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with yellow lettering on the front, a black hooded sweater, dark colored jacket, black sweatpants and yellow boots.
