A New York City peace officer was arrested on Sunday after allegedly groping a woman in a Chinatown subway station.
According to police, Lindell Blai approached the woman and slapped her butt while she was refilling her MetroCard. The 41-year-old city employee was off duty at the time of the incident, which occurred just before noon at the Canal Street subway station, police said.
Blai was arrested shortly after at Lafayette and Canal, and charged him with forcible touching. He works as a "peace officer" for the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, which is responsible for patrolling city buildings. The agency did not respond to a request for comment from Gothamist on Monday.
According to the Daily News, Blai is also a stand-up comedian and sketch comic, whose work includes YouTube videos like "Lindell Blai asks: 'how does Fez bang all the hot chicks?'" (A reference to actor Wilmer Valderrama's romantic history). His actor reel has garnered 59 views since it was uploaded more than three years ago.
Blai was released from Manhattan criminal court on his own recognizance on Sunday.
