An MTA bus driver struck and killed a man in Jackson Heights early Monday morning.

According to an NYPD release, the Q33 bus driver was heading west on Roosevelt Avenue a little before 3 a.m. when he struck the man near the intersection of 75th Street. Police say the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he died.

The bus dragged the man for a few feet before coming to a full stop, the NY Post reports. The bus driver "was alerted that there was someone dragging under his wheels,” a police source told the tabloid.

The victim's name has yet to be released. The 55-year-old bus driver stayed at the scene and has not been charged.

The NYPD's investigation is ongoing. We've reached out to the MTA and will update when we hear more.
