Monday Morning Commute Snarled By Extensive Delays On Multiple Subway Lines
March 4, 2019, 9:50 a.m.
Expect delays.

A crowded M train platform at Delancey/Essex after a person was truck by a train at Herald Square this morning.
In a not-so-surprising twist to an already annoying snow day commute, the MTA says a "temporary Con Ed power failure" between Roosevelt Avenue and 71st Avenue in Queens caused "extensive delays" along the E, F, M, and R lines this morning. It's unclear what caused the power failure, but it knocked out service along multiple subway lines around 6:45 a.m. An MTA spokesperson said the power was out for about an hour.
I want a refund I just lost my job cuz of this

Of course, this morning's problems were not limited to just those four unlucky lines. A signal problem near the 7th Avenue B/D stop in Manhattan also caused delays on those subway lines.
Brighton Beach-bound B and Coney Island-bound D trains are no longer rerouted, but we are still working to correct a signal problem near 7 Av (Manhattan).
Trains continue to run with delays in the area. https://t.co/0E6wRIZuJH— NYCT Subway (@NYCTSubway) March 4, 2019
@NYCTSubway @MegaphoneMta @SayNoToCuomo D train stuck for 30+ minutes. Can't hear the announcements because this old ass train doesn't have a working speaker system #nyc #mtasucks #getbettertrains

And there are further delays on the F, B, and D lines as of 9:22 a.m., due to a person struck by a train at Herald Square:
Update: There is no northbound M train service north of Delancey St-Essex St.

The MTA's snow storm preparations are causing delays on the 6 line, as the MTA "cleared trains that were stored underground, on the express tracks because of the snow." As of 9:12 a.m., the MTA was warning customers about "longer-than-expected waits for Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains in upper Manhattan and the Bronx."
The C train was apparently dicey too:
@NYCTSubway site says good service on C train. Lies, uptown train late and no announcement. #mtasucks

And there were problems on the southbound 1 line because of a train with a malfunctioning door being taken out of service at 72nd Street, where the subway platform was perilously overcrowded:

And melting snow means there are new subway cenotes to contend with...
@mta @nyctsubway once again, flooded staircases that are inaccessible and potentially dangerous at 14th St Station, NW exit. It’s been like this for years. When will it finally be fixed? pic.twitter.com/zVTFm3dHMp
