Five days after a pregnant woman was stabbed to death in her Queens apartment building, police have announced an arrest. Her boyfriend, Anthony Hobson, 48, reportedly turned himself in to authorities and was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, abortion, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say Jennifer Irigoyen, 35, was found with stab wounds to her neck and torso, around 1 a.m. on February 3rd, inside the vestibule of a Myrtle Avenue apartment building in Ridgewood. Irigoyen, who was about five months pregnant, was taken to Wyckoff Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her unborn child did not survive either.

The building's superintendent said surveillance video showed Irigoyen being dragged from her apartment, telling the NY Post she screamed, "He’s got a knife! He’s going to kill the baby!" A neighbor said that she heard an argument, with Irigoyen "yelling…about wanting to protect her baby."

A law enforcement source had also raised questions about her boyfriend, "Don’t you think if your girlfriend got stabbed, you’d go to the police and say, ‘What happened?’? Well, he hasn’t come to us yet. He’s definitely a person of interest."

Irigoyen had a 12-year-old son from a previous relationship and worked as a real estate broker with Crosstown Apartments. She also described herself as a "professional latin ballroom dancer/instructor/choreographer, a certified Spinning instructor, licensed Zumba instructor, a classical pianist, and a billiards enthusiast" on her work's bio page.
