Jersey City Garbage Fire Belches Out Giant Plumes Of Smoke Visible From Brooklyn

A literal garbage fire in New Jersey is sending massive plumes of dark smoke over the Hudson River.

A literal garbage fire in New Jersey has sent an enormous plume of dark smoke out over the Hudson River and the New York Harbor, which is now visible from much of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
According to NBC, the blaze originated in a metal scrapyard along the waterfront in Jersey City. First responders were still working to extinguish the flames as of 4:30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Jersey City fire department said authorities were working to get the fire under control, but could not immediately confirm its location or origin. ABC 7, meanwhile, reports that there are no injuries.
The smoke appears to be causing delays on the NJ Turnpike.
