Police say the argument devolved into violence when the woman "grabbed the victim's hair and pulled her to the ground. The victim was transported to a local hospital for dizziness, pain and swelling."

An elderly woman was assaulted while waiting on line for a movie at the Upper West Side AMC 84th Street, and police are hoping the public can help them find the person who attacked her. According to the NYPD, the unnamed 81-year-old victim was waiting on line in the theater lobby around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th when she got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified female moviegoer.
Police say the argument devolved into violence when the woman "grabbed the victim's hair and pulled her to the ground. The victim was transported to a local hospital for dizziness, pain and swelling."
The suspect, pictured above, fled the theater and remains at large. Investigators say she is in her mid-30s with long dark hair and was last seen wearing a red shirt, black spandex pants and red sneakers.
An NYPD spokesperson could not provide any further details about the nature of the dispute that preceded the alleged assault, and a call to the movie theater (which isn't doing so great in the Yelp reviews) went unanswered. But a police source told the Daily News the altercation was sparked after the victim tapped the suspect's child on the shoulder while waiting on line.
Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this female is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
