Brooklyn Woman Arrested After Allegedly Slapping Senior Driver Who Crashed Her Car Into A Deli

A Brooklyn woman was arrested for slapping a 71-year-old driver in the face this morning, after the senior citizen crashed her car into a Bensonhurst deli.

Susanne Pulizzi, 47, was charged with criminal mischief and harassment, police said, because her smack damaged the driver's eyeglasses. The alleged slap was prompted by the 71-year-old woman plowing her Nissan Altima into a corner deli at 2024 Cropsey Avenue just before 9 a.m. on Thursday.

There were no injuries, and the driver will not face any charges, authorities said. Pulizzi received a desk appearance ticket, but would have been charged with assault had the driver been injured, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

It's unclear if Pulizzi was inside the deli at the time of the crash. But eyewitness video taken at the scene shows a woman talking to police officers next to the dented vehicle and smashed deli windows: "My back was against the wall," the woman can be heard saying. "I said, 'This is crazy.'"

According to a Twitter tool that tracks driving infractions, the license plate belonging to the Altima has received seven tickets since 2014—four parking tickets, two school zone speeding violations, and one failure to stop at a red light.
