B, D, Q, N, R, J, Z Trains All Have A Case Of The Mondays :(
Aug. 27, 2018, 9:30 a.m.
Welcome back!

The N/R platform at Union Street in Brooklyn this morning.
Signal problems and mechanical problems are causing equanimity problems for subway riders in Brooklyn this sweltering Monday morning. Rush hour delays were reported on the northbound B, D, N, and Q trains because of signal problems at DeKalb Avenue, and an R train with mechanical problems at Union Street has caused migraines along the N and R lines. There was smoke in the station at Union Street, but that has since cleared, so there's one for the win column.
Commuters leaving the Union St stop on the R train because of what appears to be smoke. Train hasn’t budged since it arrived. pic.twitter.com/eImuZancVk

Now we’re all just trapped here, although the smoke has cleared. pic.twitter.com/Zf7bTX8sQI

At 8:54 a.m., the MTA announced that N and R trains were running express from 36th Street to Atlantic Av-Barclays Center. There were also delays on J and Z trains due to signal problems at Fulton Street, which resulted in some J trains terminating at Chambers Street. On the plus side, the WiFi seems to be working great?
Northbound D and N trains are running with delays because a train's brakes were automatically activated at DeKalb Av and we are investigating the cause.

THIS IS ALSO AFFECTING NORTHBOUND B AND Q TRAIN SERVICE. PLEASE BE TRANSPARENT SO THAT PEOPLE CAN TRY TO TAKE OTHER TRAINS/MODES OF TRANSPORTATION. 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

@MTA how to start your Monday? Sick passenger on the 4 train, slow moving transfer on the 3, CONGESTION on both B & Q trains & all in 1 fcking borough. Haven’t even made it to work in midtown. 1 hour in. I swear, you guys are useless and a POS. Happy fcking Monday, assholes.

Good morning from this Q train that has taken 30 minutes to go 2 stops in Brooklyn. @NYCTSubway what’s good on this Monday commute?

An MTA spokesperson said the smoke on the platform at Union Street was the result of the train with mechanical problems, and that all passengers were discharged with no reported injuries.
If you found this commute frustrating, tell your state representatives and Governor Cuomo to stop robbing the MTA of badly needed funding and figure out a way to come up with more cash for a 21st Century transit system.
