A teenage girl died after falling from a Tribeca building on Sunday night. She apparently lost her footing while on a fire escape.

Imogen Roche, 15, had been attending a party at 110 Reade Street. Around 9 p.m., she stepped onto the fire escape and slipped, falling to the sidewalk. When police arrived, they found her unconscious with trauma to her body. EMS took her to Bellevue, where she was pronounced dead.

According to the Daily News, "Imogen was trying to gain access to a locked room through the window when she slipped and fell, landing on her back on the sidewalk, cops said. She had left her cell phone in the locked room, sources said." The Post adds, "The owner of the apartment was out of town, and some of the teens at the party were drinking, police said."

The mother of a teen who knew Imogen told the News that she would have started her sophomore year at Beacon High School, "Oh my God, Imogen. She was very talented and super smart. She’s an actor, she dances. And she’s an only child. Oh my god, she’s beautiful. She’s tall. She has a wonderful, infectious personality. She’s so nice to people."
