11-Yr-Old Bicyclist Sent Airborne After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Queens

The incident happened Monday evening in Far Rockaway.

An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured when a driver struck him on a Far Rockaway street on Monday evening.

Footage of the incident shows the boy going airborne after being hit. Now police are hoping the public can help them find the driver.

According to the NYPD, at around 7:40 p.m., the boy turned southbound on Dickens Street from Healy Street when the driver of a black sedan going north on Dickens Street crashed into him head-on: "The bicyclist became airborne upon collision and came to rest on the street several car lengths from the initial impact location."

The boy suffered internal injuries and was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.

The driver did not remain on the scene and the NYPD says the car was a black four-door sedan.
