1-Year-Old Boy In Stroller Rides 1 Train Alone

A one-year-old baby was left on a southbound 1 train from 96th Street until 34th Street-Penn Station on Tuesday night, where he was safely recovered.
Police say that the baby's caretaker suffered a medical episode at the 96th Street station at 5:15 p.m. and became separated from the child. The infant remained on the train until midtown. He was taken to NYU Medical Center for observation, WABC 7 reports.
The caretaker, who was apparently a "friend of the family," was not charged. An NYPD spokesperson also said that the caretaker was reunited with the baby, but did not have details on whether he managed to catch up to the child at Penn Station. Another report suggests the caretaker "took 20 minutes... to report the missing baby to transit police officers".
The baby is with his family now.
