Zak Pelaccio and Executive Chef Andrew Pressler at Fatty 'Cue, which won the Best New Brooklyn Restaurant award from Time Out New York readers. (Katie Sokoler/Gothamist) TONY Awards: For three weeks, opinionated readers of Time Out NY have been voting for their favorite restaurants, chefs, bars, "empire builder," etc. And last night, at a party at (Le) Poisson Rouge, the winners were announced, as where ten Critics’ Picks awards, which included plaudits for Painkiller Tiki Bar (Best Lei in Town), Dram (Best New cocktail bar), and The John Dory Oyster Bar (Best Comeback, but also worthy of an award for best fish tanks). The event also featured some food samples from popular establishments like Pies 'n' Thighs and ABC Kitchen, which served up a bacon doughnut that was a Gothamist favorite despite a consensus that we're all getting tired of bacon on everything. But our favorite was the Honey and Salt custardy pie from Four & Twenty Blackbirds. Located at 439 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, this place is dangerously addictive, what with Speedo season on the horizon. Nevertheless, we highly endorse their award for Artisan of the Year.
