"It’s not that big of a surprise, I guess," Colbert said. "We all saw this coming at us, like an old man cornering an intern in the breakroom."

After learning that Bill O'Reilly had been dropped by the Fox News Channel amidst mounting outrage over numerous sexual harassment allegations, we wondered how his old sparring partner Stephen Colbert, who also once stole his microwave, would handle the loss. "It's not that big of a surprise, I guess," Colbert said during last night's broadcast. "We all saw this coming at us, like an old man cornering an intern in the breakroom."

Colbert was particularly tickled by Fox's eloquent official statement about the dismissal: "I think they just took the Roger Ailes statement and changed the nouns." Sure, by ratings standards, O'Reilly may have been one of the most accomplished TV personalities in the history of cable news—but "by moral standards," Colbert countered, "he was a self-righteous landfill of angry garbage."

Colbert also checked in with O'Reilly's biggest fan, conservative pundit Stephen Colbert: "Shame on you, you failed him, you failed Bill O'Reilly," said that "Stephen Colbert," who lives in the woods with Jon Stewart (who was sadly not part of this bit). "You didn't deserve this great man. All he ever did was have your back. And if you're a woman, you know, have a go at the front too."

We were also in for one more surprise when Colbert brought back his brilliant Alex Jones stand-in character, Tuck Buckford, for another beautifully unhinged rant, complete with a bit of very light nudity: "That's a man's leg. I'm a dancer. I don't wax, because I'm not a little child or a woman from South America."

And to end the show, Colbert had one more nod to Papa Bear O'Reilly in the No Job Zone.
