Shea Stadium Is Going Out With One Final Macaulay Culkin Show Comedy Festival

The bad news is this is it for Shea Stadium. The good news is that you can see 31 comedy acts for just $5.

Goodbye, sweet comedy angels.

Goodbye, sweet comedy angels.

DIY hearts across Brooklyn (including mine) broke when we learned that despite a fantastically successful Kickstarter effort, Shea Stadium would still be forced to close forever. But before the curtain falls on the second place named Shea Stadium in New York history, there's going to be one last big summer comedy festival from the Macaulay Culkin Show team. Hopefully, hopefully, this ends better than the other Shea Stadium finale.

The fourth Macaulay Culkin Show Summer Comedy Festival is descending on Shea on June 11th, and befitting one last blowout for the venue, the lineup is packed with some of the best comics the city has to offer, alternative or otherwise. (N.B.: The former child star and current anti-folk Pizza Underground bandleader Macaulay Culkin has no connection to The Macaulay Culkin Show Summer Comedy Festival.)

An astounding 31 acts will perform that night, including the likes of the Tonight Show's Jo Firestone, Joe Pera Talks You To Sleep's Joe Pera, The President Show's Emmy Blotnick, Ike At Night's Ikechukwu Ufomadu and Chris Gethard Show producer and master of psychological horror JD Amato.

And since it'll run you just $5 to get in, that's an astounding 16 cents cents per comedian or sketch group you see for the night. Go hunting for a better deal in New York City, I dare you. Just don't do it on the night of the show, or you'll miss the whole thing and you want to be able to tell people you were there on Shea's last night ever, right?

The Macaulay Culkin Show Summer Comedy Festival 2017, Sunday, June 11th, 8 p.m., Shea Stadium, 20 Meadow Street, Brooklyn, $5
