Samantha Bee Celebrates CNN For Letting Jake Tapper 'Feast' On Kellyanne Conway

And more late-night fun with Trump.

Samantha Bee spent a solid chunk of last night's show digging into sanctuary cities, magical places where artists and LGBTQ communities seek sanctuary from their native red states, wild animals live like people, and undocumented immigrants don't have to hide from police. President Trump, American's Promise-Keeper-in-Chief, threatened to withhold federal funds from sanctuary cities (including New York!) in an Executive Order last month, and Bee isn't super thrilled about it. But at least the mayors get to have their day in the sun!

Bee kicked off her show praising CNN for finally growing a pair, after The Lead host Jake Tapper challenged Kellyanne Conway's lying lies. “After briefly banning Kellyanne Conway for being a flaxen-haired fountain of lies, CNN let her back through the gates, straight into Jake Tapper's cage. And they hadn't fed him this week," Bee said. And boy did he inhale her whole:

Tapper, who spent yesterday battling harrowing revelations about himself on Twitter, stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. He assured Colbert that he wasn't working all that hard to get Trump to be his best friend. "My job is not to be liked, my job is to tell the truth and deliver the facts and hold people accountable," Tapper said, though he has managed to capture THIS BLOGGER'S HEART.

Earlier in the show, Colbert dug into Trump's attack on Nordstrom after the retailer announced they were dropping Ivanka's clothing line:

On Late Night, Seth Meyers also addressed #Nordstromgate, and stood up for poor, sad, scared Sean Spicer:

Later, Meyers took on the Democrats, who keep getting steamrolled by the GOP on Trump's cabinet picks. It doesn't help that some establishment Democrats seem as intent as the Republicans on sidelining their own party. "Democrats, you're the Pussycat Dolls of Capitol Hill," Meyers said. "It's been a while since you had a hit." Also, Nancy Pelosi seems to think Bush is the President (IF ONLY).
