Photos, Videos: Alec Baldwin, As President Trump, Goes To People's Court On SNL

While he's pretty much been a regular playing President Trump since last fall, Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live this week for his 17th time as host. For his monologue, they sent Pete Davidson out to comment on how much Baldwin has changed from his first stint as host in 1990.

"Wow, that's unbelievable, dude," Davidson exclaimed. "I can't believe that's you! You were so handsome! Did everybody look like that then? Like a young NBA coach?" Davidson continued that Baldwin should have done movies and later confirmed that he was totally high.

The show kicked off with a cold open featuring Melissa McCarthy reprising her take-no-prisoners portrayal of White House press secretary Sean Spicer. Thanks in part to McCarthy and Baldwin, last night's SNL's ratings were the show's highest since 2011.

Baldwin didn't bring out his Trump persona until well into the show, and it featured him in People's Court against the three Ninth Circuit judges who unanimously refused to back his immigration ban, with cameos from Vladimir Putin and Donald Jr. and Eric Trump:

Other political segments: Kate McKinnon played Jeff Sessions, Elizabeth Warren, and, of course, Kellyanne Conway in a wonderfully dark Fatal Attraction sendup with Beck Bennett's Jake Tapper. And later, Leslie Jones had a great moment when she vied to play Donald Trump on the show when Baldwin isn't around.

The Trump-free sketches of the evening included a surprise appearance from Tracy Morgan as one of Beyonce's babies in utero (Kenan Thompson was the other twin); an $18 coffee cup shout-out; a commercial for Russell Stover's "Black History Month chocolates" (Bill Clinton's in there!); Baldwin as a proud father of a cadet in basic training; the cutthroat tactics of getting a Super Bowl ad concept by the agency; and a gross-out high school gym class sit-up record attempt, plus Ed Sheeran as musical guest.

SNL comes back on March 4, with host Octavia Spencer.
