Photos: Summer Weather Enjoyers Flock To Central Park

We're still a month away from Memorial Day, but yesterday in Central Park felt like high summer.

It settled nicely into the low 80s yesterday afternoon with plenty of sunshine, so if you weren't cosplaying at Sakura Matsuri or whispering your darkest secret to a stranger in Green-Wood Cemetery, perhaps you were one of thousands who pretended it was high summer in Central Park. Like the National Weather Service predicted, it stayed warm and summer-like for the entire day, after some early morning thunderstorms.

A 50th Anniversary Central Park Be-In Reunion never materialized... Or did it??? As co-organizer Jim Fouratt said back in 1967, a Be-In can't really succeed or fail, "It just is." But Sheep Meadow, the Great Lawn, and the area around the Great Hill and The Pool were all comfortably crowded with people enjoying the perfect weather.
