Thousands of revelers got color bombed on Sunday, in keeping with Hindu tradition.
A frigid weekend with a blizzard on the horizon did nothing to diminish Sunday afternoon's Holi Phagwa festivities in Queens. The springtime Hindu "Festival of Colors" was observed with typical exuberance over in Phil "Scooter" Rizzuto Park (a.k.a. Smokey Oval park) in Richmond Hill, where thousands of revelers gathered after a parade to unleash a massive amount of colorful powders all over each other.
According to Hindu tradition, the annual festival signifies the victory of good over evil, as well as the arrival of spring, in case you were wondering why so much good news is happening right now and why it suddenly feels like spring. Here's video from last year's Holi celebration in the Bronx, which happens this year in May and looks like a total blast.
