What more could you possibly ask for in this life than drinks, funky music, guacamole, and live wrestling? All of the above and a whole lot more will be going down tonight at The Keep, Ridgewood's weirdest bar. They'll be hosting LUCHA Libre: Fight 4 Ur Right 2 Fiesta, the all-night after party tied to today's La Marcha De Mayo.
Billed as an "immersive, magical, musical trubte to Mexico," the jam-packed night will feature live luchador wrestling matches, music performances from Liah Alonso Music, Mariachi Real De Mexico, Adriana Santiago, and many more, plus sky dancing aerialists, Mexican art and projection work, and a special guacamole contest. The night caps off with a live DJ spinning records until 2 a.m. Guests will be handed a complimentary welcome mezcal cocktail upon arrival, and a raffle for prizes will be held throughout the night.
Proceeds from the raffle will go toward Mixteca Organization, a non-profit working to assist Mexican and Latin-American immigrants in New York. Mixteca's programs serve as specific outreach to immigrant communities, offering adult education classes, information on health care access, HIV/AIDS prevention, domestic violence prevention, and immigration law services. For those passionate about Mexican culture and its peoples—and those simply looking to party hard for a good cause with, let's be clear, LIVE WRESTLING, this is your perfect Saturday night plan. See you ringside
