Babies and animals make the world a better place.

This week, President Trump was cheered for reading some xenophobic nonsense off a teleprompter while Jewish Community Centers and cemeteries endured bomb threats and vandalism, and immigrants nationwide contended with the prospect of deportation. It's a dark world, indeed, but there are still good people (and animals) working hard to spark joy out there: here's what some of them did this week:

  • A little boy in North Carolina, who is white, wanted to get the same haircut as his best friend, who is black, in hopes of confusing his teacher into believing they were the same person. Perhaps the future really will be color blind—or this is a weird prologue to Get Out? Hm. Let's stick with color blind.
  • An animal rescue group saved this sweet little corgi pup with a lopsided face who was set to be euthanized, because they couldn't bear to separate him from his brother.
  • This amazing baby has such great hair it takes her mother two hours to do it every morning. Most importantly, the baby loves getting her hair blow-dried. My god, she is magical.
  • In other baby news, when a Utah couple went in for an ultrasound, they spotted their unborn baby throwing up a very metal sign with its little fetus hands. YOU'RE SO DOPE, FUTURE BABY.
  • And last but not least, here is a seal who met his match—a STUFFED ANIMAL SEAL. Look at how much they love each other! It is so cute I am basically sobbing at my desk.

We are publishing one of these every Friday, so if you see something nice happen during the week, please let us know (subject line: good things).
