The legendary Queens MC has confirmed he's dropping a new record before 2017 is over.

Next week will make 23 years since Nas released his monumental debut record Illmatic. Since then, the Queens MC has gone on to release ten subsequent albums&amdsh;and word is that another is fast-approaching. In a new interview with Billboard Wednesday, Nas confirmed his latest LP will be released before the end of 2017.
While he told the magazine the record won't be fully done "till it hits the streets," he also stressed that the new material is in its final stages of production, with work being done at a new WeWork facility partially sponsored by his record label, Mass Appeal. Currently there's no title for the project, and in terms of future releases, Nas quipped, "We might do a single but we might do something different."
Nas has also been hard at work on season 2 of The Get Down, and mentioned that the Netflix show's new material is much darker than the hit-or-miss first season. "The kids are grown up a little bit because their talent is pushing them out to the world and that world means Studio 54 era," he told Billboard. "The streets don't want to let them go and it's just a whole bunch of shit. A lot crazier than the first season." Nas, of course, serves as narrator and executive producer of the show, and has just dropped a new (non-album) single that will appear on the new Get Down soundtrack. It's all about PCP!
You can watch season 2 of The Get Down on Netflix now.
