A Little Thunderstorm Didn't Stop The First Bryant Park Summer Movie Night
June 20, 2017, 10:49 a.m.
Some die hard Bryant Park movie fans still showed up to watch last night's movie in the rain.
Bryant Park hosted its first movie night of the summer on Monday with a screening of the classic 1933 film King Kong, and the show went on despite the horrendous weather.
The organizers note that "since we do not have rain dates, we always try to screen the film," and they haven't cancelled one since 2007! While they will cancel if there's lightning, a little thunder, rain, and wind won't stop them ... though one would think it would stop those who were planning to attend. No, the true diehards of the Bryant Park summer movies still showed up. However, they were relegated to the chairs encircling the lawn, which was closed.
Next week's film is the 1949 classic On the Town; you can see the full movie lineup here, and the food lineup here.
